Happy Father's Day

I love you Dad! I wish that you could have come to Utah as well. I can't wait until you guys move out here. I can't wait to be able to spend more time with you. I hope I don't wear out my welcome, but I plan to come see you guys every day! (At least most days!) I hope that you don't get sick of me.

Happy Father's Day, Grant!

Urinetown

Tonight we took Ethan out to the Hale Center Theater.  We saw the play, Urinetown.  I didn't know what to expect from the title, but it was really funny.  We liked it.  Ethan enjoyed it and was laughing.  We bought season tickets, so Daniela is up next for the play, Guys and Dolls.

Ethan got a bad sunburn on Monday.  Today it was still really hurting him.  I found him trying to cool down a bit...

Fun with Family

It was fun visiting with Scott, Mysha, and their family.  We met them over at Becca's house.  It has been a while since we have seen them.  We are looking forward to getting together with them again on Friday.  It would sure be fun to have them live closer.  We will have to try to go visit them sometime in Arizona so that it is not so long in between visits.

Kid's Meeting

The kids are having a kid's meeting right now to figure out if we can afford this house...

It's for sale, in Orem, and even in the right Junior High boundaries.  They are so funny.  They are pulling out their wallets and pooling their money together to see if we can afford it.  They are looking at their debit card balances also.  So far they have $330.  It is a pretty cool house, but sorry kids, there's no way we could ever afford it!  They are trying to figure out a family who could go in on it with us...anyone interested?  Here's the link to the house, just in case you want to check it out.  Kid's Dream Home

Great Teachers

The kids all had such good teachers this year.  I love them all and am so thankful that my kids had them this year.  The kids really liked them as well.  It was a great 2012-2013 school year.  We've been out of school for about a week now and the kids do miss it.  Here are pictures of the kids with their teachers.

That Was a Good Day

When I was on my mission (Grant), I used to take off my shoes at the end of the day and it felt so good to finally take off the shoes.  And I would check out my socks.  If they stuck to my feet when I took them off, then I knew it was a good day that I just had.  I can't explain why, but to me it was a sign of accomplishment.

One night I was sitting in our room at the MTC and I had determined it was a good day - so I peeled my socks off my feet and chucked them against the wall.  The room walls were made of brick and both socks just stuck as soon as they hit.  I took them down and threw them again - sure enough they still stuck.  One of them was sticking to the wall right above the doorway.  As luck would have it, right then our Branch President walked in.  He stopped right under the doorway and just stood there talking with us.  It was a friendly chat, but I was praying the whole time that the socks wouldn't fall down right on his bald head.  Luckily, the sweaty socks hung long enough and the Branch President was spared.

I've told this story to our kids, so every now and then Brandon will tell me if it was "a good day" or not.  Today must have been a good day for him, because this is what I found when I came home from work:

Working Man

He really enjoyed his first day of work.  I think that he will really like working at the Scera this summer.  If you go to the movies, go on Monday mornings and say hello!
